DEBRA’S GARDEN
meadow in a vase
Most ornamental grasses look their best in
the late summer and early fall. I use the
downy plumes of fountain, feather, and
silver grasses to lend a soft texture to my
autumn bouquets. When combined with
other seasonal ingredients (asters, dahlias,
zinnias, fall foliage), the slender grasses
and their fluffy tufts are reminiscent of a
prairie. To create this dreamy look, insert
clusters of grass stems throughout the
arrangement. Or encircle the vase’s rim
with cut grasses so their tassels spill over
the edge of the bouquet like a soft collar.

cutting, visit debraprinzing.com.
